Rather than kiss own own asses talking about all of the things we do, let's start with what we DON'T do:
We DON'T compromise our principles. We DO believe a good reputation can't be bought.
Call us crazy, but we think there's something to the whole idea of karma, so we would much rather fail by doing right than succeed by doing wrong. Our entire purpose is to help good music thrive in our community, by making sure it's both a wise investment for venues, and most importantly, rewarding to the artists that have devoted so much of their lives to excelling at their craft.
We DON'T run a cover band factory farm. We DO choose who we work with very carefully.
We're a small firm by design, and we like it that way. We have no grand illusions that we're going to either disrupt an industry or change the world, because we're happy doing what we do in our community. With that always in mind, the guiding tenet is for our artists is: Do we believe in them, as musicians and especially as people? For venues, the question is always: Do they truly appreciate, and more importantly, do they value live music and the people that make it?
We DON'T promise miracles. We DO promise that we are accessible, responsive, driven, and dedicated.
The music business is a little like the ocean. It's beautiful, but countless dangers known and unknown wait below the surface. It's huge, and it can be difficult to navigate despite all the best tools. Some may pretend to know the dangers, or worse, pretend they can control them…but no one can predict how all the tides and currents will shift. All we know for sure is that it's a wild ride, and we're side by side with our clients to help them steer through any and all of it.
We DON'T interfere with creativity. We DO support your decisions.
For all of the experience and guidance we can offer, we know that no one knows your band better than YOU. Whatever challenges and choices your band faces, we will work through any and everything with you, for a neutral and unbiased assessment. We give our suggestions, and more importantly, the reasons for those suggestions. Ultimately, everything is always your call, and we'll have your back no matter what. And if your decisions mean we have to play the “Bad Guy” a little bit, well…we're cool with that.
So how does all of that translate into action?
Coaching- For bands in their start up phase, we offer coaching to consult on all public-facing and internal aspects of the band to get you started as strong as possible, and every package is tailored specifically to an artist's goals. From a band's visual identity and live show to social media and web presence, as well as the less glamorous things like organizational structure, logistics, and scheduling, we help bands position themselves for meaningful growth.
For Artists- For bands gaining momentum, we take the assessment approach used to coach start-up bands, and fine-tune the aspects that it takes to level up. From there we make a push on your behalf to venues (both in and out of our network), acting as your band's advocate, as well as handling all of the little details that pave the way for killer performances. As your band grows and new opportunities arise, we help you determine what's worth your time, and more importantly, your energy.
For Venues- Of all the many moving parts of running a successful venue of any kind, coordinating an entertainment schedule is a job that takes up more than its share of time, whether it's scrambling to fill in last-minute cancellations or strategically planning out a year's worth of events for maximum impact. We keep things smooth and efficient for venues by taking on some, or all, of those burdens. After a consultation to assess a venue's goals and their needs to achieve them, we build and execute plans to keep the regulars entertained and new faces coming in the door, night after night.
